The YSF has been set up specifically to cater for the needs of postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers. This project aims to increase the experience of young researchers as users of infrastructures, to provide specific training needs, to improve presentational skills and to increase the knowledge transfer between different laboratories. This will be achieved through the following activities:
This provides the opportunity for Young Scientists to visit another
infrastructure or laboratory for a short (a few days to 1 week) or extended period (1
month).
At annual meetings, a special session is organised by young researchers (speakers and audience). In this way the participants have the chance to gain experience of giving talks and finding out about the research of their peers. Informal discussions about the needs of Young Scientists are held.
